If building a competition-grade 1911 in the comfort of your own home, no gunsmithing experience required, sounded too good to be true, well – it’s not. That’s because our new 5” Government Anodized Black 1911 Frame and Jig Bundle lets you do just that. The included 1911 Phantom Jig is an easy-to-use machining platform that allows you to build a 1911 frame at home with basic hand tools and little to no experience. The Phantom Jig includes all the necessary drill bits to complete the included frame. Completing the frame with the jig means carrying out for easy steps and all you need is a basic hand router:
- Cutting the side rails
- Cutting the barrel seat
- Drilling the hammer pin hole
- Drilling the sear pin hole
Once you’ve completed these four steps (which can be done in less than two hours), your new frame will be ready for assembly. The included frame is a new take on the 1911’s original design, and features some impressive upgrades. For starters, we used forged 7075 T6 aluminum instead of steel. This reduces the weight of the frame by about 60% compared to the original 1911’s weight. We then coated it in a mil-spec anodized black finish for extra durability and understated, good looks. Designed to be built with any of our available parts kits, this frame affords you the opportunity to own a tier-one 1911 at a fraction of the in-store prices.
The best part?
You don’t need to work with an FFL or conduct a background check to buy this kit and build your frame. If you can legally own a gun in your state, you can build your 1911 frame with this jig bundle, no paperwork necessary.

If using a steel 1911 frame we recommend purchasing some extra carbide cutters as steel is a tough metal than aluminum. We recommend every individual to do their own research regarding building your own firearm. We are not lawyers so please educate yourself on your state and local laws.
Shipping of various parts and/or accessories are prohibited to states and locales (ie New Jersey, California, New York, etc…) with restrictions against certain parts and/or accessories or “assault weapons” (i.e. states with high-capacity magazine restrictions, manufacturing of semi-automatic weapons, etc..). It is your responsibility to be aware of your local firearms laws before purchasing from our website or machining a firearm. We try our best to keep our shipping page current, but laws change daily
