Gunsmithing at Home, No Experience Required
Using a jig to cut and drill your frame blank or receiver blank allows you to easily, precisely, and safely fabricate a legal-by-definition firearm at home. Whether it's an AR-type rifle or pistol, GLOCK-compatible frame or 1911 frame, most blanks can be cut and drilled in less than two hours. Each jig includes easy-to-follow instructions. Review the guides below (by platform) for a better idea of the machining steps involved:

Build More, Spend Less
Unless you purchase a polymer receiver or frame with disposable jig, you can use your 80% jig to complete numerous receiver or frame blanks. With the right tools acquired, building another AR rifle or pistol, or 1911 handgun, is less expensive: You don't need to pay extra taxes and fees at the gun store, and there are no FFL transfer fees to pay for an online purchase. When purchasing a "retail" firearm, functional frame, or stripped receiver, these fees and taxes must be paid each time.
Compared to these retail costs, an 80% unit is less expensive because it does not have to be handled, cataloged, or treated like a firearm with the added cost of visiting an FFL. We get to pass those savings on to you!
No FFL required to buy, ship, own, or build
The 80% lower jig is not regulated nor restricted by any State or Federal regulations or laws. Owning and operating one and completing an 80 percent lower is 100% legal under federal law, according to the ATF. Your finished receiver or frame will be a functional firearm, but it won’t require any FFL paperwork, transfer fees, or background check.
Some states have placed restrictions or bans on fabricating firearms at home in this fashion. Please check your local and state laws before building an 80% lower or any other firearm at home. We developed a reference guide to help you find and research the relevant state and federal laws. If you have questions about building a firearm at home, always consult with a licensed attorney in your state.
